I have just received my 1959 corvette and today was the first day I drove it . The exhaust was very strong and made my trip with the top down difficult. Can I put a Catalytic converter on it or what should I do? Fish |

HI there, You can install a converter, that isnt the problem. The problem will be having the engine run effciently so that the converter doesnt become clogged over time. You see, converters ONLY work the best when air fuel ratio is 14.7 to 1 or close to it. In 1959, things just didnt work that way. Second, are you running leaded or unleaded fuel? You cant run a converter on leaded. Third, carb adjustments are critical to NOT creating converter overheating. So, if you chose to have a converter, the engine must run as close to efficiently as possible. Allthebest, c4c5 |

thank you. I actually have a later edition engine in the car 350cid 5.5 liter, unleaded fuel. So I hope that makes things easier.
