CM Corvette: Otherwise known as Home of the Relay!

Is it just me or are there WAY too many relays in these cars?? ARRRGGG! I swear, I think the paint has a relay!

My latest boggles are Fuel Pump and HVAC blower relays.

I have two relays right together against the firewall on my '85. Is the Fuel Pump relay the front or rearward one? The look like they're the exact same part number.

The other question is the AC relay/ High blow. Where is it located and is that what controls my fan speed? I get airflow, but no matter the setting, the blower only blows what I would call low speed. I've replaced the resistor.

Okay, according to Hayes, the Fuel Pump Relay is the rearward one. $10 at Murray's and we'll see. If not, I have a spare relay since GM at least used identical parts for many of these.

Any info on where to find the "Hi-Blower" relay? It's not the resistor I've already replaced in the plenum, but a relay I'm hoping gives me back my High setting for the HVAC fan blower

CM new member re: relays

i have a 90 convertible, mn6, fx3, both seats, yada, yada:

In a phoncon I had with Gordon Killebrew, he told me that these cars (meaning the '90s, i guess) have 32 relays.

Replaced the blower replay, attached to the plenum under the blower motor. Had to remove the inner wheel well, but from there, a breeze. Took about twenty minutes.

Blower works 100% better, but not 100%. Think the fan motor is weak. Other than the switch, I've replaced everything else it could be.

Next up: fuel pump relay.

Are you getting more volume out of the blower now after replacing the relay? My problem is that my blower just does not bl

I now get three speeds: VERY VERY slow, Very slow, and slow. Before the new relay, it was only VERY VERY slow.

This last weekend I removed the blower module and cleaned the electrical connections, I have noticed a definite improvement.
