CM Quick reply to fuel pump issue please.

Hello All,
A couple of months ago I posted a thread regarding my '00 Vette with a bad fuel pump. The dealer wanted to charge me $3200 to replace it. I eventually shelled out $1200 for the work. That was the high end of what they charge at other dealership around here.
Well, now my car is back in the shop with the same problem. I took it back to the same place because the parts and labor are still under warranty. They called me today and say its now the right side pump that is not sending the fuel to the left tank.
Now here is my question. If the right side pump isn't working, shouldn't I still hear the left side pump trying to prime the engine to start? I listened for the pump to work in my garage with the garage door shut and never heard the pump come on. Also, if I take fuel and pour it in the tank, since the left side will fill up first and they say there is nothing wrong with the left pump, shouldn't the car start? I'm headed to the dealership shortly with a five gallon can of gas to check it out. I really feel that I have a defective left pump and these guys are trying to scam me out of more parts and labor money.
Anyone with an opinion please let me know. I want to get my car out of there ASAP.
Thanks in advance.

HI there,
That depends on your situation.
Are you stalling with only a 1/2 tank of fuel???
If so, I would be in agreement with the right side pump.
Function can be talked about later, but the left side supplies the engine and the right side supplies the left side TANK before the left side pressurizes the fuel and sends it to the engine.
And I would hope you gave them all that information AND that they diagnosed it correctly on that given information.

Thanks for the reply Specialist. Like I said, I had the car in for this same problem a couple of months ago. The day after I got it back I got fuel pump codes again. I took it back to them and they said they couldn't find anything wrong. So I continued to drive it and clear the codes periodically. Now either they misdiagnosed the first problem or I have a faulty left pump but they shouldn't charge me again for the same job. It's not my fault if they misdiagnosed it because I paid them for the job so they should honor it.
In answer to your question, the car has about a 1/4 tank of gas now.

The dealership called me back and said they will honor the repair. So we will see. Details to follow.
