CM "SERVICE TRACTION CONTROL" codeC1225H trouble code

Dear Mighty Techs!

I turned the key on 2000 coupe, with just 40,000 miles and all of a sudden, before I get to the end of my 150 ft. driveway, I get a very emphatic, "No ABS, service Traction control" on the DIC. At lunch I got the code off the memory and found code C1225H. This is interpretted as RF excessive wheel speed variation. Do I need a new wheel sensor? Or, should I check something else. Later in the lunch hour When I restarted the car it was fine, no warnings. Same thing on the commute home, about a half hour drive. I have been having a few wierd DIC messages lately, then they go away. Any thoughts?

First thing to do is pull off, clean, and reseat the connector going to the RF wheel. If that doesn't fix it, you'll probably need a new harness. And if you do, PM me as I think I have one from the time I thought mine needed replacing.

Hi there,
Another thought here.
If you have stainless steel brake lines, you may have problems because of those.
They do NOT insulate EMI correctly and can cause ghost ABS codes at times.
Allthebest, c4c5:)

I had to remove the front stainless brake lines.
Funny how the rear stainless lines are still on and never caused a problem.

My friend had the same code on the left wheel. I took ohms at EBCM connector and it was fine until I shake the connector at sensor; I was loosing the ohms when shaking. I switch the harness from Left wheel to the Right wheel and the code switch side. From LF to RF, so I knew it was that cable. He bought a new 2 feet harness for 50$ and the car has been fine since then. You may consider doing that free test.

You can also look at the female connectors. Sometimes the connectors loose tension and you can get back in shape with a small screw driver. I had several ABS/TC codes on my 97 and I got rid of them just by giving more tension on the female connectors. 0$ Solution. I had tried that with my 98 C5 friend but that did not worked this is why I went further in testing and I found that the 2 feet harness was the culprit.

You can see on the picture below the left hole before I fix it and the right one after I fixed it.

Great post Thank you 747 How is your mechanic?
The ecbm module is probably over replaced between loose connector pins bad cables and loss of ground. Saw a new in the box for $999 on ebay. Wouldn't want to replace myself as there are too many pipe fittings and dont you need a tech2 to bleed correctly?

CM ECBM replacement

You DON'T NEED to BLEED the brakes to replace the ECBM. It is bolted to the modulator using #20 torx screws. Go over to corvetteforum.com and search using ECBM to see a lot of data about the ECBM. BIGHANK
