Getting ready to do brakes and want to rebuild the calipers also and I have a question about removing the rears. The FSM states to first deactivate the emergency brake handle by pinning it but have been told this is not really necessary before disconnecting the cable from the rear calipers. HI there, Yes, this is true, that its not really necessary. Normally, what some of us do, is remove the spring from the ebrake lever at the top of the caliper, then remove the 15mm bolt and pivot the caliper toward the front of the car to remove the pads. Make sure you use a good amount of silicone paste on the ebrake piston. Allthebest, c4c5 |
